Do we need 3 videographers for the ceremony? After shooting over a 100+ weddings we have found this to be the best thing you can do to document your ceremony. While the two cameras are focused on you we use the third camera to get the fun crane shots, shots of the crowd, close-up of the ring being put on your finger and that third angle when the bride walks down the aisle. We want every single wedding film to be amazing and meet the high quality standards we all demand. To make all this coverage possible; three cameras for the ceremony is the way to go.
Who will be filming my event?
Many companies sub-contract their shooting and editing but when you hire Shakewell Studios, you get Shakewell Studios. This consists of Jesse and his team and none of the editing is contracted out.
Why should we consider Shakewell Studios to document our event?
There are many reasons to consider our team for your event but in short we are a team of filmmakers that love people and love what we do! We never settle for “basic” coverage. We want to offer what we think is THE BEST for you. We are aware and understand our competitor’s products and prices and are confident that you are hiring one of the best.
Do you have complete wedding video samples you can show us?
Many of our films have been removed due to the music industry now suing wedding filmmakers for using copyrighted music. You can view samples of our Highlights, Same Day Edits and Cinematic Edit online. To view our work in more detail, drop us a line, and we can set-up some time to meet in person.
How do we book with you?
You can call us directly and we would be happy to set-up a consultation. Once you make a decision we require $1,000 or 50% to retain the date and the remaining balance is due on or before the wedding date. Payment options are available and the balance must be paid in full before we edit your film.
What are our payment plan options? We offer up to a 4-part payment plan. 75% is due on or before the wedding and the remaining can be paid for after the wedding day. Note: We cannot send the product until final balance is paid off.
Do you charge California State Tax?
We try and keep our packages and prices as simple as possible. The price we give you covers tax and most travel expenses.
What forms of payments do you accept?
We take cash, check, cashiers check and Paypal (Paypal takes any major credit card and is as safe and easy as purchasing something from a website. No account is needed.) Paypal is subject to a 3% charge.
What do you need from us prior to the event?
Our goal is to make your experience with us easy and as stress-free as possible. Therefore we try to require as little from you as possible. We will send you our Wedding Questionnaire to fill out that gives us all the information we need. A detailed timeline is recommended too.
Will you direct us or have us say certain things while filming?
The essence of our films is capturing the raw moments as they unfold. We never ask a couple to say certain things to the camera or do anything unwanted. Things we have had couples volunteer for in the past have been like reading their vows, running on the lawn, telling their partner what you mean to them, holding hands, kissing your partner, walking and jumping together and more. We keep it fun and simple.
Do you film both bride and groom preps?
Yes, unless prohibited by the package or locations.
Do you mic the groom?
Yes, we mic the groom and the officiant with professional grade wireless mics to ensure that the vows are captured. We also place a mic next to the trio, quartet or piano player if you have one. We also plug into the DJs equipment as an extra precaution. Audio is half the project so we make sure we have it covered.
Do you shoot in HD?
We shoot with the latest Canon HD DSLR cameras coupled with L series Canon lenses for superb clarity and vivid color. In addition we utilize Steadicam and Pocket Dolly technology for fluid cinematic shots.
Do I get to pick my own music for the Highlight Video or our complete film?
Shakewell Studios prides itself on standing out from the rest. We scoured the internet for the freshest music out there. We ask for a list of your favorite songs, artist and genres and choose what works best for your film although we feel our best work is the films where we pick the music. Note: Due to the music industry suing us little guys for using copyrighted music we have decided to take the high road and pay these artist for their talent. Anything that goes on the internet (highlight, short film, cinematic series) we must have the rights to present all material. We have many options for you. Contact us for more details.
Do you offer discounts?
We are a highly trained, passionate, and unique team of cinematographers and feel our prices are extremely fair for our services. We put in endless hours of time in training ourselves, preparing for and planning our shoots and editing the films. Because of this we do not offer discounts.
How long does it take to get our film back?
In the industry the typical turnaround time is 6 months to 1 year. Our goal is to make films that are not cookie cutter but custom every time. Your film will be completed in 3-4 months.
