When my good friend Libby asked me to shoot her wedding I was honored. Knowing my commitment to film projects and being a good friend for over 10 years she was excited about the prospect of having her wedding day documented like a cinematic event. Libby met Freddie on Match.com and it was love at first sight. Freddie sent a text to his friend while on his first date and told him, “I’m going to marry this girl!”
One year later he did.
The joke going around on their wedding day was that Libby only got married so that I would film her wedding. Libby has been a huge fan of my work since I started and was pumped that I would provide video coverage. When she called me on a Monday morning to ask me to film her
wedding I said, “Of course!!” But then she asked if I would be interested in doing both the video and photography. I paused. First off, I have never have done photo for a wedding, nor have I done both video and photo before. But to help a friend out I took on the challenge.
Libby and Freddie got married at Cathedral Beach inside the park for a beautiful and organic marriage of the elements. I really enjoyed making this film, but boy was it stressful trying to concentrate on providing both still and moving images captures. I really enjoyed making this film in such a gorgeous setting!

This is our Full Feature Highlights option. We use two songs instead of one to tell a much more in depth story of how the couple’s wedding day unfolds.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Liz and Winston until their wedding day. But after I read the little note she wrote in our “Everything we need to know about your wedding questionnaire” I knew they would be a couple I would love to work with.
Liz wrote: “Jesse, let’s just say that I have teared up watching so many of your videos. You truly have a gift and I am so thankful that you are going to be our videographer for the day. Thank you for putting all of this effort in on the front end to ensure our day is captured just right! I have thoroughly enjoyed watching these other videos and I am so confident in your work and already look forward to seeing what you put together for us.”
I have to thank Liz and Winston for being such troopers to get the shots we needed. Liz taking off her shoes for a jog with us and Winston for letting us get the final crane shot.
I also have to really thank Mike, Randy, Angel and Sonia for all their hard work on this wedding. I couldn’t have done it without your expertise and creativity. Thanks Team!
Challenges: Hi winds and 747s flying over during the ceremony.
Favorite Shots: Liz running in the grass and the last shot of Liz and Winston using our crane. Beautiful!

This is our Cinematic Series which is personally my favorite type of package to edit!
I met Sharon and Jack through my good friend from Four Leaf Entertainment who was DJing their wedding. A few months before their wedding we ran into each other at a birthday party and hit it off. It makes all the difference in the world when you have a few drinks with someone and how much you can learn about them in just a few short hours. While sipping on our micro brews, Sharon asked me if I had any ideas that we could film during her wedding day. I said, “Let’s film you inside your favorite bar pouring shots for Jack.” I didn’t think she would take me seriously, but it was actually on the wedding timeline. That then led to the bar owner letting us film on the roof for even more breathtaking shots.
I asked Sharon and Jack, what was most important to them about their wedding day and for us to capture? They said, “The ceremony is important to us. The church is beautiful and we are excited to be exchanging our vows in such a place. And of course, sharing this day with our families. We are also excited to have our reception at Radius, the space suits us perfectly, and it is so close to our home.”

This is our new Short Film Edit (8-10min) we are offering for our 2012 couples.
I asked Adreahna and Peter what was most important to them for us to capture on their wedding day. They said, “The venue (the view), the things you can’t capture in photos.” So we did just that!

Wedding season is flying by this year! We’ve shot some amazing weddings with a lot of great couples this year. Jackie and Dan were certainly one of them. The beautiful couple got ready at the Le Méridien in San Francisco and the ceremony and reception was held at the Bentley Reserve in downtown. It was nice that everything was so close to each other. During the couples photo shoot we were lucky to get 25 extra minutes with them to shoot some video. What a difference that makes!
After the wedding, Jackie emailed me asking if she could do the two song highlight video which we call the Full Feature Highlight Film. I said, “Heck yeah!” and this is what we created.
Special thanks to Randy (2nd DP) and Sonia (Assistant) and Duncan Reyes for all your help making this a monumental moment for Jackie and Dan.

Kayla and Geoff made our job a cinch come their big day to film their wedding at Auberge Du Soleil Winery in Napa, California. The two had a destination wedding from Los Angeles so we were not able to meet them until the big day. But after quick greeting, hugs and handshakes I knew filming them was going to be a breeze. Kayla and Geoff were calm and natural the entire day.
The decor for their wedding was semi-formal, sophisticated, rustic and playful. Kayla chose bright yellow as the predominate color and accents of warm saturated oranges and greens. Her flowers of choice were bright yellow calla lilies, soft white peonies, chartreuse green cymbidium orchids and yellow tulips. The wedding was intimate with just under 70 guests but the energy was big.
We cherish and welcome the the fun and easy going couples!

I first would like to thank Matt and Sofia for putting their complete trust in us to go with our Cinematic Series option for their wedding video. Sofia mentioned to me that she loved the style of editing and music we do with our highlight videos, but would like it to be longer . This video is completely different from our Documentary option, but I think it stands out as a one of a kind film that they will be willing to share with anyone.
I hope everyone enjoys this edit. I came close to tearing up during the third scene of this film.
Note: Video does end abruptly. Ending movie credits are kept private.

I met Kyle while doing an internship at SFStation.com many years ago. I remember meeting Laura for the first time at a bondfire a few years after. Later on Kyle contracted me to shoot some video for Fora.TV which is known for setting a new trend on how media is streamed. I couldn’t thank Kyle enough for getting me all those gigs at Fora so when he told me he was marrying Laura, I said, “Don’t worry about hiring a videographer. I’m going to do it!” Kyle said, “Laura loves your highlight videos. All she wants is a highlight video Jesse.” Little did they know they were gonna get extra treatment and be able to see it that night!
Kyle and Laura got married at the Pema Osel Ling monk retreat center in Watsonville. This venue is pretty awesome for having a wedding here. The ceremony location is enchanting with huge redwood trees, it’s all eye candy for the photographer, it’s bring your own alcohol and the reception can go as late as it wants… oh and I hear it’s very affordable. I didn’t get to stay too late, but I heard the party went passed 3am.
Thanks Kyle and Laura for all the wonderful years of friendship, letting me attend your big day and all the gigs along the way. Here is my gift to you both.
NOTE: The little letter thing at the end of the video was shot using pictures and signs in the room where Laura was getting ready.

It was 9 in the morning on Lenny and Marianna’s wedding when I arrived at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza in beautiful Berkeley. We walked into Lenny’s suite where the joy and enthusiasm in his face told me right away this was going to be an amazing wedding. In documenting weddings you always employ your own element of creativity but the charisma of the couple is always the key ingredient. Lenny was talking and laughing up a storm while Marianna kept commenting on how happy he was that morning. Lenny expressed his abundant love for Marianna and excitement over the fact that he was marrying her that morning. He was cool and collected; even when we secretly took Lenny into another room to get him on video talking about Marianna. She had no idea.
Our crew spent a good 14 hours total and a great deal of time with Lenny and Marianna before the ceremony. We always encourage our clients to get the biggest prep room possible because after you add the photographer, videographers, equipment, bridal party, makeup artist it gets crowded. Marianna got the presidential suite with Lenny getting ready in the very next room. We thought the idea was brilliant!
Marianna set the tone with warm colors like gold, orange and yellow décor, ostrich feathers and pictures of her grandparents from the former-Soviet Union. With the rain showers moving the event in doors, the beautiful Brazil Room was the perfect locale with a modern vintage wood cabin feel. DJ Justin Credible kept the ambience up and got all the friends, family and all 12 bridesmaids dancing up a storm.
Lenny and Marianna entertained all with their performance of the Bollywood hit song, “Oh Girl, You’re Mine” meticulously choreographed. It was a dance shared with friends who had introduced it to them at their wedding in Bombay two months prior. With guests coming to Berkeley from as far as New York, New Jersey, D.C., Los Angeles, Israel, Australia and Cambodia; all were enchanted by the joy and happiness that Lenny and Marianna shared with all in attendance.
Enjoy the film.
